Strategic Purchaser Anders Donner: Curious by nature

Meet Anders Donner, Strategic Purchaser at Vahterus. Anders started in his current position in 2023. He holds a degree in business administration but has a long background in the manufacturing industry. One of his business partners once asked: ‘Are you sure you’re not an engineer?’. This says a lot about Anders’ passion and background in the manufacturing industry.

Anders’ work as a strategic purchaser includes contract negotiations, supplier evaluations, development of business cooperation, drafting and reviewing agreements, as well as statistical, company, and risk analyses. The variation of tasks brings a great balance to his daily work. 

Curious by nature, Anders appreciates the fact that the role allows him to learn new things continuously. ‘The best part of my job is finding new solutions together with the team and seeing how they work in practice’, says Anders. ‘My role feeds my curiosity to learn new things. At Vahterus, work is truly collaborative and solution oriented. Having access to so much expertise and support from colleagues is an incredible resource.’, he adds. 

On his free time, Anders enjoys spending time with his family. He is passionate about films and music, plays the guitar and keeps himself active with running and gym. His skateboards and golf clubs are currently collecting dust in the garage, but maybe one day he will finally learn the kickflip.

Here’s a fun fact: Anders got his first job as a 12-year-old when he started his career as a child actor. Perhaps that early experience explains his curiosity and willingness to learn new things, both in and outside of work.
