Multi-Condensers
Vahterus always innovates with new products to solve customers’ specific needs and to improve their competitiveness in challenging markets, often by adding more functionality with a Multi-condenser heat exchanger.
This Multi-condenser improves the heat-pump system COP (Coefficient of Performance) by minimising the temperature difference between the hot and cold sides. The Multi-condenser can desuperheat, condensate and subcool the ammonia in the same shell as the heat exchanger. This saves space, piping and insulation work compared to separate units.
In some cases it is possible to have the discharge temperature higher than the condensing temperature.
The refrigerant media is on the plate side. Different passes offer different functionality and make it possible to optimise the heat transfer in each section of the Multi-condenser.
In closed systems like district-heating systems, the Multi-condenser offers the customer additional safety and a service-free future. its fully welded plate construction eliminates gaskets that would require service and unavoidable leakage of refrigerant into the surrounding environment.
