Oil Coolers
Oil coolers can be employed in refrigeration or gas-compression systems. Vahterus has supplied a large number of oil coolers. Typically, hot compressor lubrication oil is cooled in the heat exchanger using water or other brine. It is possible to utilise the evaporating refrigerant to provide the required cold-side media as well.
It is also possible to cool down or heat up oils from the process industry. Vahterus heat exchangers are successfully used to cool down large amounts of light fuel oil. Example: Colonial Pipeline USA
Another option is to use the Vahterus Plate & Shell Heater Exchanger (PSHE) in crude-oil cooling applications. Vahterus has years of experience with variable oil qualities and solutions for oil heat transfer.
Vahterus PSHE is an excellent choice for oil-cooler applications where a robust and service-free heat exchanger is needed. Its construction is ideal for standard solutions since each size represents a large capacity range and has many secondary cooling options.
