Vahterus Opens a New Heat Transfer Laboratory

Vahterus’ mission is to remain a pioneer in plate heat transfer.

Last week, we opened a new rig for testing refrigeration applications at Vahterus’ heat transfer laboratory. This allows us to analyse our equipment with many times higher capacity than previously. Today, we’re testing a flooded evaporator and condenser with 1500 kw cooling capacity. It’s very interesting to see, for example, the effect of compressor oil in heat transfer on the chiller, or to find the minimum refrigerant charge on maximum capacity, or to compare how efficiently our different plate types on chillers work when evaporating or condensing. This testing rig will open up many new opportunities when building the best solutions for you, our valued partners.
