How to transfer heat from gas in a PSHE

Gas heat transfer can be effectively achieved with Vahterus PSHEs. The plates transfer heat very efficiently in comparison to tube-type exchangers.

The main difference in gas heat transfer compared to liquid is the lower heat conductivity and capacity of gases. This creates gas flows of greater volume. Vahterus Plate & Shell is the only plate heat exchanger whose design can be optimised to the challenging conditions of gas heat transfer.

Gas is usually placed on the shell side of the PSHE. This allows the use of different sized nozzles, including those most suitable for the large volume flow of the gas.

Connections can be placed freely on the shell surface, and the position and the angle of the plate pack inside the shell can also be adjusted to achieve the best possible corrugation angle for the gas flow.
