Working as a welder requires a good hand-to-eye coordination, a vision and a hardworking personality. Sarianna Kari in the cover has it all. She has been working in the final welding section of Vahterus since 2012. Welding is precise and demanding work which seals the durability of the product. Sarianna thinks that the best things in her work are the versatility and seeing the results made by hands. A welder can improve the knowhow continuously throughout the career, both in handling metals and learning new techniques. Sarianna first studied a degree in the commercial trade but then decided to change the field to welding in Winnova’s recruitment training. The practical training in Vahterus was useful for Sarianna as she was regularized as a welder in the end of her training period.

Tommi Järvelä - Senior Designer
Well planned is half done - the phrase applies also for the design of heat exchangers. Tommi Järvelä has been working at the Vahterus Design Department for over 11 years. At first he worked as a Designer for 5 years until he was promoted to Senior Designer. Currently, Järvelä is Principal Designer of the chemical and processl industry with responsibility of the technical expertise of the business area and the smooth progress of design work. The heat exchangers in the chemical and process industry designed by Järvelä, require special accuracy as they are primarily project heat exchangers. Over the years, the heat exchangers have become more and more customized, as the customers want to have a product that suits best in their pipe layout or machines. In addition, the regulations of pressure vessels are tighter and customer requirements have increased. Well planned design eases work in both Vahterus procurement department and production and contributes to the customer’s approval process. According to Järvelä, besides a good working community, the best thing in his work is that after many years in Vahterus, he is still learning new things and facing interesting challenges.
Anna-Liisa Aula - Sales Coordinator
“The most important part of my job is to communicate with the clients and keep them updated about how their order is proceeding,” explains sales coordinator Anna-Liisa Aula.
Altogether, Vahterus employs four sales coordinators. Anna-Liisa Aula's area of expertise is the orders of refrigeration solutions clients.
“I enter the order checked by a member of our sales team into our system, give each heat exchanger a unique serial number and forward the order to the production planning team. The production planner tells me the delivery date. After this, I send to the client an order confirmation where they can see the delivery date and address and all the other details related to their order,” explains Aula. There is often a need for communication even during the production phase or at least when the new heat exchanger has been completed.
Anna-Liisa Aula has worked at Vahterus for seven years. She graduated as a Bachelor of Business Administration specialising in international business from the Satakunta University of Applied Sciences. After graduation she got the perfect job for applying all the knowledge she had acquired in the field of international business.
“I did my practical training here and, after I graduated, I was given the opportunity to continue here. It was brilliant, I've really enjoyed my work here!
The best part of my job is that I get to serve and be in touch with our clients, and that my work is very diverse,” says Anna-Liisa Aula.
